McCabe Joins Portsmouth

Pompey have completed the loan signing of Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Rhys McCabe on a one-month-deal.

The 21-year-old is a ball winning central midfielder and is likely to go straight into the starting line-up against York on Saturday. No doubt Milan Mandaric had a hand in loaning the former Rangers player out whilst it seems like Thery Racon's Pompey career is done for seeing as Richie Barker has opted to loan in another central midfielder rather than select him.

Toumani Diagouraga's loan from Brentford has also been extended until the end of the season, with the initial loan having ended after the Fleetwood game.

That is certainly good news as "Yaya Dave" has been Pompey's standout performer since he joined the club. He gets around the pitch more than any player I've seen play in a blue shirt in recent years and he doesn't lose the ball easily, either.

His signing could be the difference between Portsmouth surviving in League Two this season or not.
