Mandaric prepares Lua-Lua bid

Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has pledged to sign Lomana Lua-Lua, just days after the Newcastle ace fired in a goal that helped move Portsmouth away from relegation trouble. The forward's starting price will likely be at 2 million - meaning that the 23 year old could prove a real bargain.

"We are making a move for LuaLua. I have instructed Peter Storrie, our chief executive, to get going on that," the Portsmouth chairman said.

"LuaLua is a talent. The pace he has with Yakubu up front has changed everything.

"We know now we can go away and win games because we've got the pace to terrorise defences."
