League Two Fixtures Announced

Portsmouth will begin their 2015/2016 League Two campaign with a home match against Dagenham & Redbridge on August 8th, offering Paul Cook a good chance of getting his Pompey career off to a winning start.

That is followed by a trip to Plymouth the following weekend and then the first midweek league game of the season at relegated Crawley. Boxing Day will see Pompey fans make the trip to the grim part of London to take on Leyton Orient.

Pompey fans desperate for good omens may be happy that the final game of the season is against the same opposition as when Frank Burrows' Blues were promoted from the fourth division in 1980, although Northampton will be at Fratton Park rather than on their own turf.

Should the season go really well, then Pompey could earn promotion earlier than the final day although fans could have to travel a long way to see that happen as the penultimate fixture of the season sees Paul Cook's men go to Hartlepool.

Those fans who like to travel won't be too dismayed at the Tuesday night trips to Crawley or Exeter but a long trip to York might put a few off. The trip to the only new ground for the season comes on Saturday, January 30th when Pompey go to The Hive to take on Conference champions Barnet.
