Leaders vs Leaders

Portsmouth have been drawn away to Norwich City in the third round of the F.A. Cup in a tie which pits the current Championship leaders against the current League One leaders.

Whilst this isn't a draw against one of the big Premier League sides that most Pompey fans wanted, it could have been worse and there are bound to be plenty of tickets available at Carrow Road, so at least there'll be no ballot this time!

Daniel Farke's team contains a few recognisable names such as goalkeeper Tim Krul and striker Jordan Rhodes but their star man is Finnish forward Teemu Pukki who currently has eleven Championship goals to his name.

This game should be a good barometer of just how prepared Pompey's current squad is for a step up to the second tier and whilst Norwich will be favourites to win, this is the F.A. Cup...

The tie is almost certainly not going to be selected for TV coverage (although after the Rochdale debacle, who knows?) therefore should take place on Saturday, January 5th with the league game at Luton to be rearranged.
