Jamo Extends Contract

The best 'keeper Pompey have had between the sticks for years has extended his current contract with the club for another year, keeping him at Fratton Park until 2009.

David James has been outstanding for us this campaign and has deservedly taken the official "Pompey Player Of The Season" award for 2007. James has the option of extending his contract by yet another year which would keep him at the club until 2010, meaning he could be playing for us by the time he is 40.

Not that it matters as James' performances have been more like a 25-year-old's this season as he has shown great athleticism and commands his area extremely well. Jamo has stated his intent to be at the club by the time the new stadium is built.

I'm not sure we'd want a pensioner in goal though. (Badum-tssssh!)
