Hughes Banned For Three Games

Richard Hughes has been handed a three match ban for headbutting a Birmingham Reserve player during the game at West Leigh Park last night.

David Howland went in with a late challenge on the Scottish midfielder and he retaliated with a headbutt which saw him instantly dismissed from the game for a red card offence.

The FA have decided that the offence was so serious that the punishment should be carried over to the first team, so let's hope that we don't go into central midfield crisis over the next week!

Hughes will not be available for selection for the league games at home to West Ham and away to Newcastle. He will also miss the Carling Cup tie with Blackburn.
