Home Friendly Confirmed

The pre-season fixture list is now seemingly complete as the club have announced the annual "big" home friendly to be played against Portugese Champions and former Champions League winners FC Porto. This game will mean Pedro Mendes will get to play against his former club as well as Pompey fans possibly having the oppurtunity to see Pompey target Benni McCarthy live at Fratton Park.

I'm suprised there is no annual fixture at Havant and Waterlooville though, unless that'll be announced at a later date. The home fixture against Porto will be played on Thursday 10th August with a kick off time of 7:45pm. This fixture follows away trips to Torquay, Bournemouth, Southend and Oxford.

In other news, John Viafara has returned to Pompey after an unsuccessful loan spell at La Liga side Real Sociedad. Viafara picked up two red cards during his time at San Sebastian. Benjani has also pledged his future to Pompey rejecting claims that he was about to move to a club in France.

There was some laughable news about Yakubu returning to Pompey too... but no official new signings as of yet.

Stay Tuned.
