Pompey have completed the signing of Barnet winger Ricky Holmes on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old made it publicly known that he wanted to be a Portsmouth player and the move comes as no surprise. As reported earlier this month, Holmes is a player much like Wes Thomas but has had his injury problems.
It is expected that he will be played on the right wing by Guy Whittingham and he has a fairly good chance of being in the starting line-up when Oxford arrive at Fratton Park for the big kick-off.
In other news, it has also been confirmed that Spanish side Rayo Vallecano will play Pompey in their final pre-season match at Fratton Park on Sunday, July 28th with a 3pm kick-off.
