Argentinean winger Jonas Gutierrez has added more fuel to speculation that Pompey could sign him in January by saying that he would be interested in joining the club.
Pompey have been continually linked with the man known as "Spiderman" during the season and Harry has said he's interested in the player but is likely to be warded off by the high transfer fee the player would command because he is owned by two clubs.
The 24-year-old currently plays for Mallorca in La Liga but his rights half-owned by Velez Sarfield and £7 million is not enough for the player to be prised away from the club according to Mallorca's president.
Guilliem Ballague, Sky Sports' resident La Liga expert says that Jonas is a better version of Yossi Benayoun and is one of La Liga's brightest players.
According to Ballague, he was left out of the side that played at Real Madrid recently because his mind wasn't focused after holding discussions about his future in England.
Gutierrez has said himself that he'd "be a success for a club like Portsmouth" and is keen to join because of our reputation and ambition.
I guess we will have to wait until January to see what comes of these strong links to a player who seems like he'd fit the bill to play for Pompey. Whether he is being lined up as a possible replacement for Matty Taylor, or just an addition to the squad whilst Utaka is gone, who knows?
