Neave, who sadly died on August 2nd after a short illness aged 78, was a trainer, coach and kitman for Portsmouth from 1959 to his retirement in 1999.

He was registered as a player during Pompey's golden years in the late 1940's but the quality of the side lead to him leaving for nearby Bournemouth & Boscombe (now AFC Bournemouth) and later Aldershot.

Club historian Richard Owen will read a tribute to 'Mr Pompey' at the funeral. Owen says of the Glaswegian: 'Gordon was a very special person and we will remember him for his warmness and constant ability to see the humorous side of life. He will be greatly missed.'
