Football League Stand Firm - Fratton Faithful

Football League Stand Firm

Last updated : 18 February 2013 By Jim Bonner

The Football League has reaffirmed that the bid from Portsmouth Supporters' Trust remains the only considered offer for Portsmouth FC in response to Keith Harris's improved offer today.

In a statement, they said:

"As stated after its most recent meeting, the Board of The Football League is not considering alternative applications for the transfer of Portsmouth’s share in The Football League.

‘Instead, it remains focussed on a successful transfer of share to the preferred bidder, the Pompey Supporters Trust."

Earlier today Harris's consortium submitted a "last roll of the dice" offer but appear to have rolled snake eyes after this latest rebuffal.

The offer would have supposedly seen the PST offered a 15% share of the club and given a 10% discount on season ticket prices to those people who bought a community share.

The eyebrows were raised when Harris stated that he aimed to buy Fratton Park within a year of purchasing the club. Does he not realise who owns the ground!?

He may as well have offered gold, frankincense and myrrh to go with the other deal sweeteners as the Football League have thankfully stayed firm with their stance.

Whilst this bid looks attractive on the outside, you know that Portpin will have found some way to weedle their way back into the picture as they did with the CSI takeover.

It just makes you wonder if Chainrai and co. have anything else up their sleeve before Thursday's court date.
