As expected, Johnny Ertl has signed a three-year deal with Portsmouth.
It comes as no surprised that this was confirmed as soon as Guy Whittingham was back to work after his holiday. At least there are now no worries that the 30-year-old would produce a shock U-turn and sign for another club at the last minute.
Whittingham has now signed thirteen players and could well add a fourteenth shortly if Ricky Holmes is snapped up before he decides to move to another club.
The Pompey manager has also said that he will not be too busy in the loan market as he'd like a squad of players who are permanently contracted and committed to Portsmouth. Having such a large number of permanent players is something of a novelty these days, but welcome all the same.
What else will happen this week, I wonder?
