Ertl Agrees New Deal

Portsmouth skipper Johannes Ertl has agreed a three-year deal to stay at Fratton Park.

In honesty, this comes as no surprise given the positive things he has said about the club and how often he's talked about his future in Portsmouth in the news and social media.

The 30-year-old seems to have a great affinity for Pompey and is popular with the fans. He's also a good football player havng performed consistently at a high level since an outstanding showing at Crewe last season which was instrumental in his team picking up their first win in 24 games.

Pompey's player of the season will be a vital piece of the jigsaw next season if we're to see a successful campaign. Shaun Cooper and Liam Walker are the only players who were in the squad at the end of last season whose futures are yet to be resolved, but it's expected they will both sign new deals before long.

Should they sign then Guy Whittingham will have almost finished his summer shopping before others have even begun. It will be good to have a team of familiar faces to support for once!
