Justin Edinburgh has been handed a free transfer, just weeks after his inclusion on the transfer list by Graham Rix. Fratton Faithful understands that it was a decision made by the board after Graham Rix included Edinburgh in recent matches.

Edinburgh has provided a cool, experienced head in Pompey's back three and this move will come as a shock to fans who have been pleased with his performances.

This latest revelation comes straight after internet rumours that Milan Mandaric has been unhappy with Rix playing Beasant in goal and he was forced to play Kawaguchi against Sheffield Wednesday. 'The News' today reports that Mandaric seems unwilling to offer Beasant a new deal, even though Rix is desperate for the keeper to stay.

However this latest move by the board is worrying news for the club - can Rix stay in charge when decisions keep being made for him?
