Kenny Jackett has made his fifth signing of the summer by bringing in Chesterfield utility man Dion Donahue to Fratton Park on a two-year contract.
The 23-year-old left-footer can play all across the defence and midfeld and therefore will be useful to have in the squad, if he is any good. The Welshman hasn't signed in time to play against Walsall tomorow.
You would have to believe that Donahue has been brought to the club primarilly to play at left back with Tareiq Holmes-Dennis out for the season, leaving the inexperienced Brandan Haunstrup as the only real option at left back.
But he could well forge a partnership with Danny Rose in defensive midfield if Nathan Thompson doesn't play there himself when he's fully fit. Who knows? We won't have to wait long to find out.
