Diop Opts For Pompey

Harry Redknapp has finally secured the services of Papa Bouba Diop, three years after he trained with club and looked set to sign before Fulham poached him.

The 29-year-old Senegalese midfielder has signed a three year deal and becomes Harry Redknapp's ninth acquisition for the club. "The Wardrobe" has signed for an undisclosed fee that's thought to be in the region of £3 million.

Meanwhile, Gary O'Neil's move to Middlesbrough is hanging in the balance as it's reported that he's failed a medical. A fee of £5 million was agreed between the two clubs but now it's not so certain that Pompey will get that money because of Gary's ankle problem.

A Pompey spokesman has told the BBC that "two in, two out is enough for the day." With less than three hours to go before the transfer window slams shut, we'll see...
