Derby marred by trouble

Pompey fans clashed with police officers outside the ground, as cars were wrecked and shop windows smashed near Fratton Park.

"This was a large scale public disorder. It was pure irresponsible stupidity by people who do not support the club," a police spokesman said.


Portsmouth have vowed to identify supporters who hurled bottles onto the pitch and stormed the pitch during the course of the game.
