Defensive Boost

Pompey have revealed that Dejan Stefanovic and Noe Pamarot are not too far away from being available for selection.

The Pompey captain hasn't played since his operation after a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle back in November last year but has now returned to full training and could well be back in a couple of weeks according to Pompey physio Gary Sadler.

Noe Pamarot could surprisingly be in contention for Saturday's FA Cup game at Manchester United. Pamarot was injured on New Year's Day during the 1-1 draw against Spurs but has recovered very well after it looked like he would be out for months. Hopefully he does recover in time, as Djimi Traore is cup-tied and Niko Kranjcar; who wants to stay at Pompey, is still struggling with injury.

Credit has to go to Sadler; who seems to be good at getting players back into contention before expected. Unless, the player in question is Lomana LuaLua; who still hasn't recovered from an injury he sustained last month and has been put through extra training by Harry to ensure he is ready for Tuesday's game against Middlesbrough.

In other news Chinedu Ogbuke (Otherwise known as "Edu") is having a trial with the club. The 20-year-old Nigerian is currently with Lyn Oslo and has been watched by the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona. Edu is said to be very pacy with a decent finish, but will we see anything of him?
