Cooper Returns To Pompey

Shaun Cooper has signed a deal with Portsmouth until January as a free agent having left Crawley in the summer.

The signing was able to take place after Guy Whittingham was handed a boost to his budget by the board. Originally, the player believed he had missed out on a return to the club by not immediately pledging his future to the club after the end of last season.

Personally, I must be in the minority as I believe that Shaun was a good player for Pompey after a slow start. He may not be quick but he's solid, versatile and capable of scoring goals. He's a good addition to the squad.

He may well be poised to make his third debut for Pompey at Cheltenham on Saturday if Marcos Painter is still ruled out with an injury.
