Cole Leaves...

Andrew Cole has had his contract terminated by Portsmouth because Harry Redknapp couldn't guarantee him first team football.

The 35-year-old scored 4 goals for us last season in 22 appearances and had one year left on his contract but both parties have agreed for it to be terminated. I don't think he'll be missed after failing to displace Kanu and Benjani in a season bogged down with injury.

Also leaving is "top prospect" Collins Mbesuma who has joined Turkish side Bursapor (OK, so it wasn't Trabzonspor after all...). Suma MBE made just four sub appearances for Pompey before being shipped out to Maritimo on loan last season.

As for the rumours for players coming in, could we really be getting the Yak back? "Bullshit" Barry Silkman obviously knows the accounts and the finances of the club as he's said "I honestly believe Pompey don't have the money to pay for him."

He also claims that Pompey have shown a strong interest in him but have not made a formal offer. The rumours doing the rounds say that we will offer/have offered £10 million and Sean Davis to bring him back to Pompey. Believe what you will...

Pompey are also set to sign a superhero according to reports. Jonas Gutierrez, otherwise known as "Spiderman" due to him donning the famous mask when scoring, is a 24-year-old Argentinean winger who currently plays for Mallorca of La Liga and is left footed.

How much truth there is to this rumour is unknown but why would we sign a left-footed winger when Matt Taylor, Niko Kranjcar and Sulley Muntari can all play in that position? I'll let you answer that question yourselves...

Harry saw Gutierrez when watching Mallorca take on Sevilla as he looks to keep tabs on Fredi Kanoute. Speculation suggests that we won't pay the £8 million asking price for the Mali international, so we'll have to wait and see how this one pans out...

And finally... Kanu still hasn't signed his new deal yet! The long saga continues as negotiations between club and player drag on even longer...
