Christmas Presents?

Last updated : 24 December 2005 By Jim Bonner
It's almost January and it's that time of year when transfer tattle becomes more and more common. Will there be any late Christmas Presents in the form of new players arriving at Fratton Park? These are the latest findings:

Emanuel Olisadebe

Already on trial at Fratton Park, 'Arry is running the rule over "Oli" before deciding whether to take a gamble on the Panathinaikos striker. He has had injury problems in his career but does have pace so he'd fit in perfectly at Pompey! However with our striking options already down to the bare bones with Lua Lua off to Africa and Vinny Pericard out with an injury we might be forced to sign him.

Aurtis Whitley

Part of the Trinidad and Tobago squad who have qualified for the world cup for the very first time. Whitley has reportedly also caught the attention of a few Championship clubs but would obviously prefer to join a Premiership club. I personally don't know much about him but being a member of the T & T squad I would guess he would put in 100% for whichever club he joined.

Paulo Di Canio

Played under Redknapp before at West Ham (and is considered a legend there) however due to his age and his controversial "beliefs" I personally cannot see him signing for us. So expect him to arrive on New Years Day!

Robbie Fowler

An old one now but did get linked with us due to him possibly being out of the frame at Man City and being over 30 years old. Redknapp has recently said he wasn't interested in him but would you believe him?

Ronaldinho

Well it is supposed to be the season where miracles happen...
