Catlin To Be Next Pompey C.E.O

Mark Catlin is set to become the new Chief Executive Officer at Portsmouth Football Club once the Trust officially completes their takeover.

The 47-year-old was formerly a director at Bury FC and has been working alongside Ken Brown in the build up to the Trust's successful takeover.

He was generally popular amongst Bury fans but some of them questioned his decision to leave due to "not having enough time" to work at a football club.

Given the Shakers' current dire financial situation and the task at hand that faces him at Portsmouth, there will be plenty of cynics that will wonder why he really left Lancashire to come down south.

You can find out more about Catlin, a West Ham fan, from the column he wrote for Total Football Magazine. He seems like a nice bloke but will he be able to fulfil such a tough role?

Only time will tell, but he will have to go a long way to be as unpopular as the two most recent men he has succeeded.
