Bird Flies To Cambridge

Ryan Bird has been loaned to Cambridge United for an initial month whilst Adam Webster has rejoined Aldershot Town for the rest of the season.

Bird links up with another player that Pompey fans don't really rate in goalkeeper John Sullivan having scored three goals for the Blues after a loan spell at Havant & Waterlooville.

In all honesty you won't find too many people who think the 26-year-old is good enough for league football despite his workrate and it wouldn't be surprising if he never played for the club again.

On the other hand, Webster has been highly rated by Aldershot fans when he has played for them and surely deserves a chance to finally establish himself in the first team at Pompey.

However, with Ben Chorley arriving at Portsmouth to add to a plethora of centre backs at the club already it makes sense for Richie Barker to loan the 19-year-old back out at a club which appreciates him.

Hopefully we'll see Webster in the team on a more regular basis next season, so long as it doesn't mean Pompey are in the Conference!
