"I was nervous today but my team didn't let me down," Adams said after the match.
"They were resilient and battled well and we gave Spurs a really good game. Sol Campbell was exceptional on his return here and David James was outstanding.
"I'm pleased David Nugent got the goal. He's playing out of position but he's benefiting from a run of games.
"He's had four games in a row now. He works really hard and does a lot of good things for the team."
