Abroah Added To Portsmouth Squad

Paul Cook has signed attacking midfielder Stanley Abroah on a contract until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old was a free agent after being released by Notts County last month. Having started his career at Ajax, he has also appeared sporadically for Vitesse Arnhem, Ferencvaros and made just a single appearance for Gillingham.

Something of an enigma, Abroah is a naturally gifted footballer who is clearly talented and yet his career has never really taken off for whatever reason. Obviously, Cook sees something in him and hopes he can add to a squad which already has an abundance of attacking options.

In other news, first team coach Ian Foster has left Pompey to join the England youth team set-up. It's a big step up for him and we can only wish him well in his new role. Hopefully his absence won't effect the promotion challenge ahead.
