A Roofed Milton End?

Last updated : 07 March 2007 By Jim Bonner
Portsmouth Football Club have announced plans to roof the Milton End to local residents. People living behind the stand have been invited to a private meeting on 15th March to discuss the matter.

This means that fans of other clubs as well as Pompey fans who pay good money to watch a game will no longer have to brave the elements in what is one of the most notorious away ends in the Premiership.

So whilst fans of the other Premiership clubs will be cheering this news it raises more questions that continue to be dodged by Peter Storrie as Pompey fans still have absolutely no idea about what the plans are for a new stadium, if any.

It's about time we knew what was going on, but then fans before my time have been wondering if we'll ever see a new Fratton Park, and by that I don't just mean roofing the away end.

Is it worth using up resoucres just to roof that end anyway? I know I'd miss the sight of the away fans getting drenched as their team concede a late goal to cost them the match that's for sure.
