Thank you to everyone who supplied stories for the inaugral Pompey Memories section on this site. Below is a selection that we recieved. If you have a story that needs telling, send them to Alex at Fratton Faithful on trulymadlysheepy@hotmail.com - all entries will be read!

First up is Clive Harris, who writes:

When I was a young lad of around 10 or 11 years of age it was
a freezing cold saturday in December my best mate and I positioned ourselves
as normal behind the goal on the fratton end at about 1:30pm. I'm sure a lot
of fans have fond memories of what was about to follow.

The match was POMPEY v OXFORD (yes you all guessed correct)

However my memory starts around the 85 minute we were 1-0 down it was cold,
raining and Santa had just made his appearance. We decided enough was enough
and walked out of the ground then went upstairs into the Jimmy Dickenson
lounge. All of a sudden there was an almighty roar, we ran into toilet to
look out of the window which overlooked the fratton end. Pompey had scored
1-1 the crowd were going wild, we could not see the pitch only the crowd on
the frattton end. We stayed in position and listened to the chimes ring
around the ground. Once again the crowd erupted Alan Biley had scored the
winner, I had to wait until Monday to see the goals on telly.

The second is from a Portsmouth fan in Australia! Mick Tull adds:

One of my memories dates back to Dave Kemps time and Pompey needed to sell him to stay afloat , times were hard ..... we went to Carlisle with Martin Fooks , left from the Milton Arms on a wet Friday night and travelled all the way to the end of the world to watch pompey lose 2/1 we posted keep Kemp stickers all around the ground at Carlisle , a week later who bought him?.....CARLISLE.....
