1950-1951: Fail to achieve hat trick of Championships'.
1952-1953: Eddie Lever relieves Bob Jackson as manager.
1954-1955: 3rd in the First Divison behind Chelsea and Wolves.
1955-1956: Portsmouth and Newcastle contest the first ever match under floodlights, a 0-0 draw.
1956-1957: Lowest position in Division One since 1938, as the club crash to 4th bottom.
1957-1958: Avoid relegation on goal difference.
1958-1959: After just missing out the year before, Pompey finally succumb to the drop, after 32 years in the top flight.
1959-1960: Disappointing season in Division Two.
